Our Club enjoys sharing the night sky. Please follow us on Facebook for our current schedule or check the live Facebook Feed on the right to learn the latest information.
Some of the activities our Club participates in as part of our Outreach Mission.
Star Parties
We gather together under the stars, setting up multiple Scopes, Binoculars and Astrophotography Rigs so the public can have a closer look at the night skies as well as learn about the different types of equipment and ways to incorporate Astronomy as part of their lifestyle.
Workshops
Twice a year, Club Member Brandon Porter organizes an Astronomy and Telescope Workshop. We gather as a Club with our gear to share the different ways to enjoy the stars. We also have Volunteers handing out information and Lithographs and stickers.
Special Programs
Each year our NASA Solar System Ambassadors provide Programs on various topics throughout Eastern North Carolina. Some are followed afterwards with an on-site Star Party. Club Members will provide Programs or Educational Meetings on various topics, such as the benefit of Dark Skies for our environment as well as profiting our economy.
Schools
Our Club has worked with Schools all along the Outer Banks and Eastern North Carolina. We have worked with After School Programs, Science Clubs as well as individual Classes.
We are in the process of getting set up for Remote Learning opportunities for Distance Learning and Home School Groups. This service is offered on an availability basis.
Pop Up Events
Our Club will, from time to time, set up a spontaneous Event when there is something of particular interest in the Night Sky. These Events will range from Sidewalk Astronomy, set in a high Traffic area to Comet Hunting under Dark Skies. Becoming a Member is the best way to find out about these Events.
Hope to see you under the stars.
Keep looking up !!
